Have Fun!
I decided to take a break this weekend. I plan to relax and not
do any work. I just completed a new e-book entitled “The Ladder
of Success.” http://tinyurl.com/25eospm.
This e-book comes with a CD for your listening
pleasure.
One of the things I forgot to write about in “The Ladder of
Success” is the importance of having fun. Many of my coaching
clients forget to have fun. They get so focused (which is a good
thing most of the time) and bogged down with work that they
don’t give themselves time to relax and enjoy life.
I have to be honest with you. I used to be the same way. I
remember when my coach told me I had to have fun, even if that
meant that I had to consciously plan the fun in my schedule. I
argued with her that I could have fun when all the work was
done. She explained that work is never done if you are
successful, so you better have fun along the way. She was right.
Sue, if you are reading this, thanks.
One of my colleagues makes a point to schedule something fun
every month. Scheduling a fun day gives him something to look
forward to and helps him avoid burnout.
Here is your action step for this week. Schedule some fun. It
can be a date night. It can be going to the movies, visiting a
museum, attending a fun seminar, taking a class, getting
together with friends, taking in a sporting event, or doing
anything else that you enjoy. Just put that fun time on your
calendar and then make sure that you actually do it. And relax
and forget about work while you are doing it!
That’s it for now.
